As generally the case with the last year of a generation, the 1981 Camaro was basically unchanged from the 1980.  Production numbers dropped to only 126,139 units in 1981, in sharp contrast to the all-time single year record set just 2 years earlier in 1979 of 282,571 units.  The RS model was dropped in 1981 (it would reappear in 1989) and the Z28 was only made available with an automatic transmission.
